5/18/03 - Dean and Britta Tour Dates

5/16/03 - PIGGIE, the movie starring Dean Wareham, Savannah Haske, Robert Burke, and John C. Reilly, and directed by Alison Bagnall (co-writer of Buffalo 66), will be screening in June at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival. Dean is the male lead in this film, he portrays an ex-junkie and small-time credit card thief.

Screening dates are June 13 at 7pm at the Sunset Plaza, and June 19 at 9:30 p.m. at the Directors' Guild of America. For tickets, call 866-FILMFEST, or visit www.lafilmfest.com.

1/22/03 - Britta and Dean have completed work on an album that will be released on Jetset in May, under the name “Britta Phillips and Dean Wareham”. The album, titled L’Avventura, was produced by Tony Visconti, who also contributed a number of string arrangements. Britta and Dean trade vocals on a handful of original songs, plus covers of songs by Madonna, the Silver Jews, the Doors, Buffy St. Marie, Opal and Angel Corpus Christi.

12/24/02 - LUNA will be guest hosts on MTV2's 120 minutes this Sunday, December 29.
We'll be chatting and playing a few Luna videos.

9/9/02 - Jetset is releasing a mini-LP of new Luna material. The enhanced CD, "Close Cover Before Striking" will be released on October 8, 2002.

It features five Luna compositions, two cover versions ("Waiting on a Friend" by the Rolling Stones, and "Neon Lights" by Kraftwerk), and two music videos.
